Dear Valued Supporters,
The new Battle Mountain High School facilities are truly remarkable and a testament of the generosity of this beautiful valley and the value regarded the education of our kids.
The Stadium Track & Field is a particularly visible example. It has ignited pride and excitement in our athletic teams and attracted record numbers of spectators. It is simply a great venue. So much so, Battle Mountain High School will be hosting, for the first time, a state-qualifying track & field meet this upcoming May 8th. Our intention is to grow this into one of the premier events in the region.
We do, however, find ourselves with one obvious outstanding need: hurdles, both for training and to meet the exacting standards of being a state-qualifying competition. The cost of these hurdles will be significant, we estimate around $16,000.00. Our hope is to locate and work with a dozen or so financial supporters that would be each willing to support this project with a donation in the neighborhood of $1000.00. (We would of course welcome more!)
We would like to recognize sponsors by name in game announcements, and on a plaque of sponsors displayed in the stadium or gymnasium areas or, preferably, on the gateboards of the hurdles themselves. (Photos follow to give an idea of what this could look like.)
