Entrepreneurs and small-business owners in the Wylie area have the opportunity to win free rent for an entire year in First Wylie Retail Center on Hwy. 78, the center in which Meteor Burgers will soon open and in which Tobacco Town, World Finance and Domino’s Pizza are tenants.

The contest is called “First Wylie Center Free Rent Competition – Making Your Dreams Come True,” and it’s being co-sponsored by Tommy Z. Hoffman, owner of First Wylie Center and  www.RockyMountain VacationRentals.com <www.RockyMountain%20VacationRentals.com>  based in Vail, Col., and C&S Media. Hoffman, owner of the center at Hwy. 78 south of Brown Street, said he’s ready to jump-start someone’s career and garner new tenants for the shopping center as well.

In addition, C&S Media will provide the winner $1,000 in free advertising in C&S Media publications, which include The Wylie News, The Sachse News, Murphy Monitor, The Farmersville Times and The Princeton Herald and their Web sites. Additional winners will receive $250 worth of ads.

Hoffman said there can be as many as six winners in the contest, and their new place of business may be anywhere from 675 to 2,500 square feet, depending on the type of business.

“We’re looking for entrepreneurs who have always wanted to own their own business or individuals looking to expand but who do not have all the necessary funds to do it,” Hoffman said. “This could be a way to help local small businesses that might be struggling or want to start up a new venture. In addition, the new businesses could help revitalize the center, which would be great for Wylie in terms of increased tax revenues.”

Chad Engbrock with C&S Media said this could be a wonderful opportunity.

“As a business owner, I think this is an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneur to get their dream of building a successful business started,” he said. “While there are many factors that lead to success in business, this package will certainly have a positive impact on achieving success.”

Before relocating to Vail, Col. with his three children Aaron, Danielle and Noah, Hoffman was a longtime Plano resident. He said those wishing to start a company from the ground up, as well as those who have an existing business and would like to have a year without rent obligation, are welcome to enter the contest.

Those wishing to take advantage of this offer should create a detailed business plan for submission. To see contest rules and regulations and a list of what the business plan should include, visit www.FirstWylieCenterFreeRent.com <www.FirstWylieCenterFreeRent.com%20> . Businesses will be judged in such areas as uniqueness of concept, number of new jobs created, projected annual sales, financial viability, compatibility with the vision for the shopping center, ability to attract other businesses, and visual appeal from the street.

Business plans must be submitted to both Hoffman and Engbrock, either by e-mail or via the postal service. E-mail addresses are tzhoffman@vailskivacations.com and cengbrock@wylienews.com and postal addresses are Tommy Z. Hoffman, 1000 Lions Ridge Loop, Suite 3A, Vail, CO 81657 and Chad Engbrock, C&S Media, P.O. Box 369, Wylie, TX 75098.
