Registration for the 24th annual Bob Johnson Hockey School, taking place July 19-25 at Dobson Ice Arena, is underway by clicking here.
The Vail Recreation District (VRD) is pleased to announce the return of Mark Johnson, named head coach of the 2010 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team in February, who will lead participants in the week-long camp. Johnson, who was also the leading scorer of the U.S. team that won the Olympic gold medal in 1980 at Lake Placid, NY, has taught at the VRD's ice hockey camp for the past 24 years and is the son of the hockey school's founder, Bob Johnson.
Costs are $445 for open registration, $420 for Eagle County residents, $400 for Vail residents or $175 for the goalie session. Participants must be eight years or older with one year of prior ice hockey experience. All age groups will receive three hours of on-ice instruction and one hour of off-ice instruction during the school. The camp will conclude with a 90-minute skate and graduation session.
Registration is available through July 19 by clicking here.
The VRD also hosts a variety of youth sports camps throughout the summer including baseball, sports training, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball and basketball. For details, click here. |
