April 17, 2009 | | Program fee waived for businesses who sign up by May 1 | The Vail Valley Partnership (VVP) announced today that as part of its celebration of Earth Day 2009, it will waive the $150 sign up fee for businesses that join Destination Preservation™- the Environmental Sustainability Program, by May 1.
Destination Preservation is an effort to encourage businesses in the Vail Valley to conserve and protect our natural environment, increase awareness of best practices and help businesses save money in the process.
“It’s a vital new program that let’s locals and visitors know about our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection,” said Chris Romer, VVP Director of Sales and Marketing. “The benefits are substantial and program participation is easy and educational,” he said. “We’ve already partnered with the Town of Vail, Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability, Eagle River Water & Sanitation District and Holy Cross Energy to help get this underway.”
Interested parties are encouraged to visit the Destination Preservation website, http://www.vailvalleypartnership.com/general.asp?id=198 or call Chris Romer at 477-4016. Program participants will be eligible for the “Green Business of the Year” award at the VVP’s annual Gala and Success Awards. The 2008 winner of the award was the Antlers at Vail.
With nearly 800 member businesses from Denver to Glenwood Springs the Vail Valley Partnership is the official resource and advocate for business and tourism. The organization creates regional economic vitality by partnering with local businesses and collaborating with key stakeholders throughout Eagle County.
