Harry & David has partnered with the USO to send care packages with delicious snacks to the troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. All of the 143 Harry & David stores nationally will participate in the program.
The local Harry & David store at the Outlets at Silverthorne will have a special drop off container, where customers can deposit Harry & David snacks they have purchased. The Snacks For The Troops Program will run from now through March 22, 2009.
“Harry & David has a long and proud history of supporting our troops who are in harms way. Now customers in any of our stores can join us in sending delicious snacks to the troops,” said Bill Williams, President/CEO of Harry & David.
“USO Care Packages are a huge hit among our troops and provide them a much appreciated taste and touch of home while they are deployed,” said Sloan D. Gibson, USO president. “We are proud to partner with Harry & David and we’re grateful for their shared commitment to supporting our troops.”
Harry & David snack items that can be accepted for gifts to our troops include all bagged non-chocolate snacks, all jerky products, bagged nut selections, various dried fruit gifts and trail mixes.
